Lucian kept us entertained on the long drive and Vwliko Tarnovo church was interesting to compare with the cathedral at Tsarevets Fortress. The signage and guidance inside the stops in Bulgaria was lacking so read up first or just enjoy the scenery without the writen history.”

For some reason, a few of us got put in an Italian tour and the guide Karolina, although knowing perfectly how to speak English, didn't explain to us about basic logistics of ticket purchasing and later told us: "you are not in a guided tour so I shouldn't be even talking to you in English at all". Incredible. The monastery was beautiful but the stop was too long and we were all freezing.”

“Convenient tour, well organized. Downside is making a detour to pick up passengers at the airport and the traffic backup that significantly impacts the time one has in Plovdiv. If one is interested in spending time at a museum, don't go on Monday - they are all closed and one does have a little time to visit a museum on this tour.”

He was very knowledgeable, spoke well, and was flexible in letting us go at our own pace. The tour itself was very enjoyable as Dan took us to a good selection of Sofia highlights.
